Manager, KC-30A Mission Systems

As Manager, KC-30A Mission Systems, I am responsible for a team of Engineering & Technical Services personnel with Avionics, Electrical, Structures, Hydro-Mechanical and Cabin Safety Engineering Authority, who perform various functions in support of Northrop Grumman Australia CAM Services Provider, MTCH Services Provider and MDO organisations for the RAAF A39 KC-30A MRTT platform. I also continue to use a small percentage of my time to exercise my Engineering Authority for Avionics, Electrical, Hydro-Mechanical and Cabin Safety.

Avionics / Mechanical Engineer

I started work with NGA as a P1 Graduate Engineering and progressed up through the levels with my highest level attained being a Principal Engineer (P4). As a Principal Avionics Engineer (P4) with both Avionics and Mechanical Engineering Authority, I perform various functions in support of Northrop Grumman Australia CAM Services Provider, MTCH Services Provider and MDO organisations for the RAAF A39 KC-30A MRTT platform.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice (Avionics)

Carry out on-the-job training to complete competencies associated with Certificate IV Aeroskills (Avionics), including removal and installation of aircraft components, incorporation of Service Bulletins, carry out modifications and upgrades, as well as inspection, test and troubleshooting of avionic systems on the aircraft types B737-800, B747-400, A330-200, A330-300, RAAF BBJ, RAAF KC-30A.

Airline Service Trainee

Performing AAA baggage matching, aircraft cleaning, aircraft loading/unloading, aircraft marshalling, aircraft push back and towing, aircraft receipt, aircraft toilet servicing, baggage handling/make-up/break down, baggage loading/unloading, baggage re-location, cargo handling (receipt, packaging, load/unload), ground service equipment maintenance and potable water servicing for Tiger Airways and Virgin Australia.

Research Assistant

Research carried out on a component of the Detect, Sense, and Act project, where the aim was to produce a vision-based system, incorporated into an unmanned platform, which can perform avoidance manoeuvres autonomously. A literature review was performed of image stabilization techniques and analysis of the various techniques according to performance metrics. A final report was produced, with recommendations carried forward into the project.
